Exam Instructions and Schedule

Registration for the Exam

1. Registration for exam: You must register for the pesticide applicator examinations at least one week prior to the exam date.  To register, call the Delaware Department of Agriculture at 302-698-4571 or 1-800-282-8685 (DE only) and ask for the Pesticide Compliance Section. Please be prepared to provide the following information:  Full Name; Phone Number (where you can be reached during the day); Address; and which category(s) of pest control you will be tested in.
2. Training Manuals: Anyone attending training must purchase the Core Manual with the Workbook prior to the training.  Please bring the manuals with you since they are an integral part of the training.  These manuals are available for purchase through the University of Delaware, Entomology Department--call 302-831-2526, or the local county extension office.  Kent County 302-730-4000, Sussex County 302-856-7303.  Please call to confirm that they have the manuals you need.
3. Exam Information:  The exams will be given closed book.  Pocket calculators are recommended for use on the exams which may include calibration questions.     
4. Reporting of Grades:  A passing score is 70% or higher. Exam results will be mailed to the address listed on the exam cover page.  For those failing the exam, an opportunity to retake the exam will be given thirty days after the initial exam.  A date for the re-examination will be included with your test score notice.  Only one re-examination is permitted in any twelve (12) month period.
5. Payment For Certificates:  Payment is due within 30 days of receipt of your passing notice.  The fee is $20.00 for commercial pesticide applicators.

Training and Exam Schedule and Location 

December 5th & 6th, 2006 – Del Tech Terry Campus, Dover Delaware, Room 427, Corporate Training Center
Training Time:  8:30AM - 4:45PM (First day)/ 8:00AM - 9:00AM (Second day)
Testing Time:  9:00AM - 12:00PM on the (Second day)

Training review available - University of Delaware Cooperative Extension will be offering pesticide review training the day before and the morning of each exam.  The location for the training will be the same as the exam location above.  This training will provide information for the "core/private" applicators exam.  For more information on the content of this training, contact:
