Agriculture-in-the-classroom
This program been revised to include additional current-day Delaware issues and topics. The focus of the program continues to be agricultural literacy so that people, especially young people, understand where their foods comes from and will be able to make informed, responsible decisions as adults.

Program materials and activities are drawn from Delaware specific materials developed by the Delaware Department of Agriculture (DDA), Project Food Land & People, the National Agriculture in the Classroom program, and other agriculturally related education materials. They are all correlated to the Delaware Department of Education (DOE) Content Standards and Recommended Curriculum, and currently being correlated to the new U.S. Department of Education Standards.


Promotes approaches to learning to help people better understand the interrelationships among agriculture, the environment and people of the world.
Envelop Grant Headline
An exciting new addition to DDA's Agriculture in the Classroom outreach is the Envelop Your School in Agriculture funded by the Specialty Crop Grant. This is; a project that focuses on grades K-5, and the national problems of nutrition and childhood obesity.

The Agri-Mentors program continues to be available to provide on-site, hands-on activities related to agricultural and environmental topics chosen by the requestor.
